Day tour to Ardnacrusha Power Station

The Society’s Summer Tour this year will take place on Friday 17th July 2026. The tour will be to Ardnacrusha Power Station on the Shannon, outside Limerick City and to Adare Village.
This is the 100th anniversary of the Ardnacrusha Power Station, that was a huge undertaking for the newly formed Irish Free State in 1926 and the ESB are offering guided tours of the facility throughout the summer. We will also visit Adare Heritage Centre including a guided tour of this beautiful and historic village.
The bus will leave Skibbereen at 8.30am Friday 17th July and return by 10.00pm. The fee will include Tea/Coffee & scones on the way to Limerick, all entrance and tour fees in Ardnacrusha and Adare and a two-course meal in the Charleville Park Hotel on the return journey.
The cost is estimated at €90-€100/person depending on the numbers.
Numbers are restricted to 27 people, so don’t hesitate.
For insurance reasons, the tour is available to members only, but you can join on the day (€20 single, €30 family), if required.
