The Rev. Edward Spring and his Mission

From the 1840s to 1860s the Rev. Edward Spring spearheaded a Protestant mission to the islands of Roaring Water Bay. In this talk, local historian William Casey examines that mission in some detail. Among the questions he will address are the following; did the provision of aid for conversions occur, did the mission bring any benefits, and what was its legacy?

This lecture take place in the O’Donovan Rossa GAA Pavilion, Skibbereen on Wednesday 25 October 2023 @ 8pm.
