Our April Lecture is:
‘Women of power: goddesses, guardians and the godly in Iron Age and Early Christian Ireland’ by Dr Cathy Swift.
Dr Cathy Swift, Director of Irish Studies at Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick, has lectured in many universities including University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, The University of Liverpool, NUI Maynooth, NUI Galway and The University of Melbourne.
This lecture is the 2025 ‘County Lecture’ of the Cork Archaeology & Historical Society, hosted by Skibbereen & District Historical Society. It will be held on memory of the late Alan McCarthy, who contributed articles to the Journals of both societies.
