Our March lecture is
‘The Railways of West Cork – Reflections & Reminiscences’ by John C. Dwyer

John C Dwyer is co-author of “The Railways of West Cork – Reflections & Reminiscences”, the brainchild of Michael Patterson, who along with other contributors including Ray Good and Oliver Doyle, were privileged to have witnessed first hand the day-to day operation, the many ‘special’ runnings and ultimate demise of the Cork Bandon & South Coast Railway on that fateful Good Friday 31st March 1961.

In this talk John will provide an oversight of the once extensive rail network that served West Cork before focussing on events and personal experiences in the Skibbereen / Drimoleague area. The trains may have long since departed from West Cork but the memories remain strong!

Note the location of the venue for this talk is the Parish Hall, Main Street, Drimoleague.
